1961 Sunbeam Harrinigton Alpine Coupe totally restored.
1961 Sunbeam Harrington Alpine ( Stage III ) Coupe finished in a Silver Blue Metallic with Dark Blue Leather interior. Driven just 4,860 miles since a total restoration by a noted Marque specialist in California. This Harrington Alpine is one of only 110 that were made. The Sunbeam Alpine was also the first James Bond film car.
Imported in 2001, chassis # 2966 was sent directly to Bill Atalla in California where it received a no expense spared total restoration. A 1725cc engine received new valves, guides, .060 over pistons, lightweight wrist pins, oil pump, GT Aluminum oil pan, Isky SB2 Cam, Petronix ignition, stainless steel header, Weber manifold and DCOE carbs, custom oil filter, chrome front cover and various parts. The engine was fitted to a Toyota five speed wide ratio rebuilt transmission designed for this application.
After the body was brought to bare metal, it was expertly painted and all chrome was refinished including the bumpers. The wire wheels were refinished and fresh tires were fitted as well.
The interior received new leather, carpets, wood trim and steering wheel, refreshed gauges and a headliner.
A fully documented restoration book accompanies the car with it’s sale.
