1995 BMW M3 Lightweight with only 100 miles on it. Museum quality and without a doubt, the single best example in existence.
1995 BMW M3 Lightweight ( model 9520 ). Finished in Alpine White with Black Motorsport cloth interior. Built by BMW Motorsport International, this extremely rare M3 was intended for use by track enthusiasts and race teams. Production numbers are believed to be only 120 manufactured worldwide with approximately 85 coming to the US.
Manufactured to be a street legal race car, additional lightweight performance parts were shipped with the car and delivered in the trunk, pretty much the same way the 3.0CSL Batmobiles were delivered.
The M3 Lightweight came with convenience and comfort items deleted in order to save weight. Upgrades were based on the European M3 GT for worldwide GT Racing. The motors were handpicked off the assembly line and only the best were used for these cars. Very much the same way Audi chose engines for the Sport Quattro Cars in Group B.
Upgrades included aluminum doors, GT front spoiler with adjustable wind splitter and aero underbody panel, Solid upper strut bar brace, rear axle ratio of 3:23, sport suspension settings, rear trunk lid spoiler, special BMW sport seats, Motorsport Forged alloy wheels, reduction of sound deadening and insulation, Motorsport graphics exclusive for this model, Carbon fiber trim, radio delete, trunk kit tools and holder deleted, no air conditioning and a sunroof delete.
With most examples having been raced and modified, this 100 mile totally factory original example with lightweight factory parts still in the box that they were delivered with still in the trunk, make this the single best and most original example period!
